Son of Abraham, Son of David
Advent is a time to emphasize the incarnation of God as the man, Jesus Christ. Robert, our pastoral Intern, preached from Matthew 1:1-17 on the messianic expectation that Christ would be born as a Son of David and Son of Abraham. We confessed Scripture’s teaching on the incarnation using the historic Scots Confession from 1560. We will also sang Advent hymns that Christians have sung for centuries: the 12th Century O Come, O Come Emmanuel, the 5th Century Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence, and the 18th Century Joy to the World (a hymn that looks forward to the Joy of Christ’s return). A video of the service is below, and the bulletin is posted here.
