First Sunday of Advent: Light Shines in the Darkness in John 1:4-5

calendar_today November 29, 2020

Advent is a time of waiting, and we are a people who are waiting. We are waiting for the pandemic to be over, waiting for life to return to normal. We are also a church waiting for all pandemics, all sicknesses, and all diseases to be over when Christ returns to heal our bodies and make all things new. It is during this advent season, when the days are short and the nights are long, John 1:4-5 is a reminder that Jesus came into the world like a light shining in the darkness. His light brings life, and His light reveals things to us that we would not have seen if He had not come. We will consider Jesus first coming as we wait in anticipation of His second coming. You may find the bulletin posted here.
