The Christian’s Freedom to Submit to Government from 1 Peter 2:13-17

calendar_today May 3, 2020

Christians live in the overlap of two kingdoms: the kingdom governed by magistrates (the nation) and the kingdom governed by elders (the church). The sermon explores how Christ is the authority behind both (Romans 13, Matthew 16) and how both are intended to be a blessing. By studying and following Christ’s example of submission, we may provide a witness of how the Gospel transforms us to honor our rulers in a way that makes us different from the politically polarized culture around us. The bulletin for this service is posted here.
