Suffering & Freedom in 1 Peter 4:1-6

calendar_today July 6, 2020

On Independence Day weekend, we considered the Biblical idea of freedom. Our culture defines freedom in the negative (e.g., freed from obligations and regulations on my autonomy). The Bible defines our freedom in Christ as the freedom to be the people God designed us to be and Christ saved us to be: people who glorify God and enjoy him forever. Our sermon text, 1 Peter 4:1-6, reminds of the Christians of our freedom from enslavement to our passions and freedom from the guilt of our past sins. Come and hear the good news of the freedom that God has made available to us in Christ.
