Through Many Tribulations

This past Lord’s Day, Pastor Harlow preached from Acts 14:19-28 on why the road to the kingdom of God runs through many tribulations. Paul was stoned and left for dead, yet he rose up, returned to the cities that had turned on him, and told the disciples that this is the path we walk, the same one our Lord walked before us. Pastor Harlow traced that suffering to Christ’s own and to the weakness that comes with age, showing how the Lord uses trials to wean us off our own strength and treasure so that we lean more and more on His strength and provision. In God’s deliverance of Paul and in Paul’s faithful ministry afterward, we see that Christ is sufficient for every season of affliction.
