“A Biblical Guide to Spiritual Renewal” in Genesis 35

Our pastoral intern, Robert, preached from Genesis 35. He showed us how that chapter gives us a very realistic picture of the Christian life as one of following the Lord by faith, then stumbling into unfaithfulness, then being called by the Lord to get up, repent, and continue following Him. Its an encouraging reminder of the Lord’s faithfulness to His often unfaithful people. During the service we sang hymns and psalms about the faithfulness of our God, who does not reject us when we sin; instead, He lovingly calls us back to faithfulness. Our songs included Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery, Come My Soul and Bless the Lord (Psalm 103), Love Divine, All Love Excelling, and Behold the Lamb (The Communion Hymn).
