A Joyful Christian in John 3:22-36
At the end of John Chapter 3, we explored the source of the joy and peace John the Baptist had amidst great change. His disciples came to him with jealous complaints that the ministry of Jesus and his disciples was increasing while theirs was decreasing. John refused to listen to them. Instead, he instructed them on how they could find joy in putting God’s will first—even when it did not appear to be in their. How do you and I respond when God’s will for our lives turns out to be different than our will? This passage encourages us to maintain our joy, peace, and contentment when we trust God’s providences.
