Betrayal in Genesis 37:12-36
On this Sunday, our pastoral intern preached from the second half of Genesis 37 on the betrayal of Joseph by his brothers. We considered how different their betrayal is from the love of God who will neither betray us nor let us go when we betray him. The following hymns were selected on that theme: a traditional hymn from 1757, Come Thou Almighty King, a psalm from 1000 BC, Stuart Townend’s version of Psalm 23, and a 19th Century hymn set to a 21st Century tune, He Will Hold Me Fast.
