Easter Sunday: Hope for a Broken World in John 20
On Resurrection Sunday, we see the hope for a broken world that is available in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We skip ahead to the Apostle John’s eyewitness account of the resurrection in John 20, and we see three people (John, Mary Magdalene, and Thomas) come into Easter Sunday grieving the brokenness of this world that led to the death of their Lord and Teacher on the cross. Then we see their realization of joy and hope in their interactions with the Living Jesus and the angels in the empty tomb.
