MAUNDY THURSDAY: Remembering Christ, our Passover Lamb from Luke 24:13-35

calendar_today April 15, 2022

On Maundy Thursday, we remembered Christ’s Last Supper, when he transformed the Passover Meal into our Lord’s Supper. It was a solemn service with hymns of lament that included Stricken, Smitten and Afflicted, How Deep the Father’s Love for Us, O Sacred Head Now Wounded (a hymn with words written by Bernard of Clairvaux in the 12th Century, set to a tune by Hans Leo Hasler in 1601, then harmonize by Johann Sebastian Bach in 1729), and When I Survey the Wondrous Cross (a hymn with words written by Isaac Watts in 1707 and set to a tune by Lowell Mason who served at Independent Presbyterian Church in Savannah–one of the churches that planted us). The bulletin is posted here.
