Reformation Sunday

During this worship service, we remembered God’s faithfulness to reform His church during the 16th Century so that we may be more confident in His power to do so again in the 21st Century. We sang I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art that some attribute to John Calvin; A Mighty Fortress Is Our God, Martin Luther’s 1529 hymn based on Psalm 46, and In Christ Alone, the Getty hymn based on one of the 5 Solas: Solus Christus. Before the video came on, we received 19 new members and baptized one of them. Then Porter, our pastor, preached from Genesis 45:16–46:4 on how God used Joseph and later John Knox to bring revial and reformation to His church.
