The Warfare and Witness of Holiness from 1 Peter 2:11-12
Our pastor preached from 1 Peter 2:11-12 on how the Lord’s call to holiness calls us (1) to battle against the passions of our flesh and (2) to bear witness to an honorable life in front of our unbelieving neighbors. The Apostle Peter is not offering a prosperity gospel that tells his audience that they may live their best life now. He is a realist who tells them that it is hard to live as a sojourner and an exile, but that we continue in faith because of our hope in the promise of paradise where our Savior has gone to prepare a place for us (John 14). We will not see our best life now during this life, but it is still coming. The worship bulletin is posted here.
