Unpacking God’s Covenant Promises and Our Obligations Part II from Genesis 17

Our pastor led us in considering God’s promise of heaven from Genesis 17:7-8. The Bible does not give us a lot of information about heaven, but it does give us descriptive metaphors like paradise, a crown, a kingdom, a city made of gold. We will explore what these descriptions could mean in an attempt to excite our hopes while we continue to serve Christ and our neighbors in this broken creation. We also sang the great hymn that looks towards heaven, On Jordan’s Stormy Banks I Stand. A video of the service is below, and the bulletin is posted here.
