What Were The First Christians Like? (Part II of II)
This past Lord’s Day, Pastor Harlow preached the second installment of the series “What Were The First Christians Like?” returning to Acts 11:19-30 to consider how God’s hand sustains His people amid the sufferings of a fallen world. Luke’s account of the church scattered from Jerusalem shows believers enduring persecution while the Lord’s providence carried the gospel forward through them. Rather than removing His people from hardship, God strengthens them to persevere in it, a truth the congregation reflected on through “O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus” and “Come, Behold, the Wondrous Mystery.”
