Who is Jesus? John 6:1-15

The sermon text is on Jesus’s miraculous feeding of the five thousand in John 6:1-15. This miracle is the only one recorded in all 4 Gospels. We believe that the Apostle John wrote his Gospel account last, and that he purposefully included new material that had not been included in the previous three. So for John to include this miracle, knowing that it was already available to readers, indicates there is something special about this miracle that is critical to understanding who Jesus is and His power to satisfy our needs with less than we expect it would take. This passage shows that Jesus is the God who provides for us abundantly, and He is the God who delivers us from impossible situations.
